Just A Piece Of Meat

It’s one thing to appreciate the presence of hammocks on the back porch. It’s another to let the sling hold you snugly like Temple Grandin’s hug machine.

My sister and I used to clamber into Babcia’s rope net hammock when we were little. We’d poke each other’s butts through the mesh. “You look like a ham! A big ham that they sell at the grocery store!”

  1. Ha!

My parents and David are visiting soon, as you might know, and bringing our family’s old rope hammock for us to install on our porch. So I’ve been researching the hanging of hammocks, and ended up reading about different types of hammocks. And was super intrigued to read about those particular hammocks that hug you… like Temple Grandin’s machine, as you said! Fun that you are getting to be a ham in a hammock there.
